Internship at BLS

A glimpse into daily life at our law firm

Summer is internship season. Many young people use their summer break to gain their first experiences in the working world. We at BLS are also opening our doors.

Every summer, we offer high school students the chance to take a look behind the scenes at our law firm. For young people, the goal is to gain perspective, get to know what everyday work life is like, and perhaps take the first step toward a career in law. For us as a law firm, it’s a chance to get to know young talent early on and to present ourselves as a future employer.

What’s it like to get a taste of life at a law firm for the first time? We asked our interns how they’re experiencing their time with us and what they particularly like.

Isabell attends a class with focus on law, at a commercial high school in Vienna. She tells us: “I really enjoyed the internship because I gained a lot of interesting insights into the work of a law firm.”

Jakob attends a business high school near Vienna. He says, “What I liked best was that we were invited to observe court proceedings.”

Florentina attends a high school in Graz. She explains, “I liked the recourse cases best, because I found it very interesting to read up on them.”

Matthias attends a business high school with a focus on law in Lower Austria. He notes, “I found the court proceedings the most interesting.”

Adrian explains, “I really liked my internship at BLS Rechtsanwälte. I found the numerous court hearings I was able to attend particularly exciting. This allowed me to experience firsthand how court proceedings unfold and how attorneys represent their clients. The internship gave me a good insight into the day-to-day work of a law firm and was an interesting and educational experience for me.”

Sophie attends a secondary school with a focus on sports in Lower Austria. She states, “The internship showed me just how exciting and varied legal practice really is. Thanks to that, I now know for sure that studying law is exactly the right decision for me.”

Luisa attends a class with focus on law at a business high school in Vienna. She says, “The internship at BLS was a great experience. I was able to try out a lot of different things and take on my own tasks, such as working on cases, conducting own research, and creating new files.”
