BLS advises association on acquisition of all shares in Rheumatism Center Vienna Oberlaa

Association for Promotion of Research into Musculoskeletal Diseases buys VAMED stake

BLS advised the Verein zur Förderung der Erforschung der muskulo-skelettalen Erkrankungen (Association for the Promotion of Research into Musculoskeletal Diseases) on the acquisition of a share in the Rheuma-Zentrum Wien-Oberlaa (Rheumatism Center Vienna Oberlaa) from VAMED AG. The association was already a co-shareholder and became the sole shareholder of the rehabilitation center by acquiring the VAMED share.

The non-profit association pursues the purpose of promoting clinical and basic research in the field of musculoskeletal diseases. These are diseases of the musculoskeletal system that are the main cause of chronic pain and physical functional limitations worldwide. These include diseases such as osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, rheumatism and back pain.

The Austrian Vamed AG, a holding company of the international healthcare group Fresenius operating in the healthcare sector, is undergoing a transformation process in which business areas such as rehabilitation and the international project business are being sold.

In addition to treating patients, the Rheumatism Center Vienna Oberlaa focuses on research in the field of musculoskeletal diseases.

The experts in corporate and contract law guided the association through the entire process of acquiring the shares and the associated necessary amendments to the articles of association and management contracts.
